Arsenal and Hull City fans were celebrating at the weekend after the teams won to confirm the make up of the 2014 Fa Cup finalists, but they went about it in two very different ways and one of them leaves us open to worry.
There is nothing worse than a turgid completion to a competition and the way the Gunners went about defeating Wigan Athletic on penalties there would be no great surprise if the decider on May 17 turns out to be no the most entertaining spectacle. Hull's thrilling 5-3 win was a terrific match and while it gives hope final can be as dramatic, GMS are finding it difficult to imagine the game being anything other than a typical Premier League meeting between the teams.
Steve Bruce will know that if he sets up his team with too great an emphasis on attack they are liable to get picked apart by the Gunners on the counter-attack. Meanwhile, Arsenal's recent form has left them looking stunted going forward and the fear of a repeat of the disaster suffered at the hands of Birmingham City in the 2011 League Cup final will not be far away if the game remains close in the latter stages.
We know, it doesn't do us any good to be all doom and gloom about something that hasn't and may never happen, but Arsene Wenger's side have GMS sceptical when it comes to possible entertainment in the last few weeks. There are few things we dislike more than a rubbish final.
All this pessimism got GMS thinking about finals we have experienced in the past that induced reactions ranging from underwhelmed to outright disgusted at being robbed of some juicy cup final drama. We have picked out the 12 finals that made us question where the magic has gone and stuck them into a neat little slideshow for you.
