A number of British sporting icons showed face at the London Marathon yesterday, with Andy Murray and Tom Daley generating a particular amount of hype after they met at the finish line.
Olympic diver Daley was taking part in a mini-version of the event, whereas Murray was there to cheer on girlfriend Kim Sears.
Meanwhile British golfing pair Rory McIlroy and Ian Poulter have both bemoaned their performances on Augusta’s four par five holes, and credited them as being the reason behind failing to clinch historic Masters victories.
Poulter finished two over and picked up one shot on the par fives, but said his effort was not good enough. McIlroy echoed that stance, and said he wasn’t holing the pots that he should.
In boxing James DeGale has looked to renew his spat with George Groves, after branding his rival a fake and a fool.
Speaking ahead of a fight with Brandon Gonzalez on the undercard of Groves vs Carl Froch in May, the 2008 Olympic gold medallist said that he was looking forward to crazy fights being made if he overcomes his next challenge, and many would love to see him fight Groves again, were the two both to be successful this year.
