Washington Redskins quarterback, Robert Griffin III has hailed the signing of defensive end Jason Hatcher and promised that he won't be being sacked anymore.
Griffin was sacked 38 times last season as the former Baylor Bear star suffered a decline after an injury during his rookie season. However RGIII reacted to the Redskins' acquisition of Hatcher from the Dallas Cowboys on twitter.
Hatcher tweeted earlier today: "Can't wait to here the crowd at Fedex field when I put a quarterback down" to which Griffin joked: "Yessssss and that QB won't be me anymore".
It will come as a relief to Redskins fans that Hatcher is now a Redskin after seven years with divisional rivals Cowboys.
Fans in Washington will also be pleased to hear that Griffin aims to stay on his feet a bit more in 2014 as he aims to prove he was worth the second pick in the 2012 draft after Andrew Luck.
RGIII did pass for 16 touchdowns in 13 games in 2013 but he also threw 12 interceptions which was higher than in his rookie season. The dynamic quarterback also rushed for less yards than in 2012 and did not register a single rushing touchdown.
Bigger things are expected for the Redskins in 2014 and with stars on both offense and defense prepared to improve, it seems like they may be ready to deliver.
