Southampton defender Luke Shaw has heightened speculation linking him with a move to Manchester United by following Phil Neville on social media website Twitter.

Shaw's move to follow Manchester United coach Neville has sent rumours of a potential move to Old Trafford into overdrive.

Manchester United have been stringently linked with making a move for Shaw during the last few months as David Moyes has reportedly highlighted the left-back area as a major weakness in his squad.

Moyes is yet to tie first choice left-back Patrice Evra to a new deal, which could be a sign that he is willing to let the Frenchman leave at the end of the season.

The Scotsman has previously tried to sign Eveton's Leighton Baines, who has now signed a new deal to stay at Goodison Park, and Real Madrid's Fabio Coentrao - but was unable to conclude a deal for the aforementioned duo.

Following on from his transfer setbacks in the left-back department, Moyes has switched his attention to Southampton's 18-year-old starlet.

Reports suggest Chelsea are also interested in enticing the teenager away from St Mary's as Ashley Cole could leave the west London outfit at the end of the season.

Shaw's decision to follow Manchester United coach Neville just as transfer speculation regarding his future begins to hot up may just be a coincidence - but it will surely add more fuel to the fire regarding talk of a move to Old Trafford.
