Manchester United have agreed a shock stunning deal to sign top summer target William Carvalho from Sporting Lisbon for £35million, according to reports.

TalkSPORT claims that the Red Devils have agree terms on a monumental five-year deal with the youngster, though the transfer will not officially go through until the opening of the summer window. If true the move could be massive for David Moyes, who has reportedly drawn up a five man shortlist of players he wants to add to his current squad.

The interest in Carvalho has been high this season, after a series of impressive performances put him on the radar at clubs such as Real Madrid and Liverpool. The 22-year-old’s release clause was said to stand at £37million, but it’s believed that Sporting Lisbon were willing to compromise providing the fee was still high.

The capture of the highly-talented midfielder will likely alleviate some of the pressure hanging over Moyes’ shoulders. Another transfer window without bringing in recognised talent would not have been accepted by the Old Trafford faithful, and so the news that one of the top targets has already been secured will be music to the ears of all those who love the club.

The same report states that Moyes and chief executive Ed Woodward are now working on deals to bring both Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana to the club before the World Cup in Brazil.
