Raw, live from Birmingham, Alabama kicked off with a tribute to the Ultimate Warrior, who sadly passed away last week.

Every WWE Superstar was on top of the ramp paying tribute to Warrior as the bell was tolled ten times as a mark of respect for the Legend. Triple H then started a Warrior chant with the fans.

Alberto Del Rio v Rob Van Dam (First round match in the Intercontinental Championship number one contenders’ tournament)

RVD made his return to WWE last week and had been thrown back into the title chase against former World Champion Del Rio.

Rob used his feet to his advantage when he hit the spinning kick followed but the cross-body for a near fall. The Mexican fought back with a few kicks of his own and a slap to the face before a vicious kick to the ribs.

Del Rio claimed his own near fall after a suplex before delivering a kick to the head from outside the ring. Van Dam then knocked Del Rio out of the ring and followed it up with a sliding kick but he went for the back flip and Del Rio moved, hit the clothesline and threw him into the barricade.

Raw returned with RVD hitting Rolling Thunder but Del Rio countered with a DDT. Rob then went for the split leg moonsault but Del Rio counted and hit the back stabber for a two count.
Del Rio went for a move off the top rope but Van Dam got him in the face with a heel kick but Del Rio hit the enziguri to stay in the match up. Del Rio then called for the Cross Arm Breaker and Van Dam countered into a scissor leg pin but Del Rio kicked out.

Del Rio was then pulled off the middle rope and RVD hit the Five Star Frog Splash for the win.

BACKSTAGE: Stephanie, Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista were discussing something and all looked to be on the same page.

The Ultimate Warrior tribute continued with The Honky Tonk Man v Ultimate Warrior at Summerslam 1988.

BACKSTAGE: We were back with Stephanie, Triple H, Batista and Randy Orton. Triple H told them that Daniel Bryan wasn’t here and that The Shield are their problem and he doesn’t know anyone who can stop them and Stephanie said she knew who could, and she was looking at them.

Cody Rhodes and Goldust v Rybaxel

Goldust and Axel started the match up with Goldust hitting the atomic drop before tagging in Cody, who hit the front suplex before attempting a unique pin.

Paige was out next for her first match since winning the Divas Championship last week.

The girls started the match up with a collar and elbow tie up before Alicia pushed Paige and hit three tilt and whirl backbreakers before knocking Paige out of the ring. Alicia pulled her back in by her hair and delivered a bridging suplex for a near fall.

Paige fought out with a thunderous kick to the mid-section before successive clotheslines and a drop kick. She then locked in the scorpion cross lock for the submission win.

The Usos v Randy Orton and Batista

After the abuse they suffered last week at the hands of this duo, The Usos were out for some revenge against the team of Orton and Batista.

The Usos went after Orton and Batista as soon as the bell rang and knocked them both out of the ring, before flying out after them.

Orton and Jey finally started the match up with Jey gaining the advantage through slaps to the chest and then tagged out to his brother.

Jimmy got the near fall after the double team but Orton fought back and hit the back breaker before tagging to Batista.

Batista continued to work on Jimmy’s back and hit the suplex for a two count. Orton then came back in and continued to isolate Jimmy from his brother before a quick tag to The Animal who delivered the spine-buster for a near fall.

Jimmy replied with a Samoan Drop but Orton broke up the pin attempt and took Jey to the outside and bounced him off the announce table.

The Shield made the save and threw Orton into the barricade, they then circled the ring and set their sights in Batista and Roman Reigns hit the Superman Punch.

BACKSTAGE: Randy and Batista walked into Triple H and Stephanie and Triple H said “Told ya” before walking away.

Paul Heyman was then out to talk about Brock Lesnar and repeatedly told the crowd that Brock conquered the streak, he then went through pictures from Wrestlemania and showed Brock’s dominance.

Before announcing the newest Paul Heyman guy, The King of Swing Cesaro.

Cesaro v Mark henry (First round match in the Intercontinental Championship number one contenders’ tournament)

Mark Henry told Heyman to stay out of his business before the match, collar and elbow tie up started the bout before Henry threw Cesaro out of the ring and he took the time to re-group with Heyman.

Cesaro came back with upper cuts and forearms but he just swatted Cesaro away but he kept coming back with more upper cuts.

Henry went for the world’s strongest slam but Cesaro countered and hit an upper cut from behind before delivering another one from the second rope. He then hit the neutralizer for the win.

Alexander Rusev v Xavier Woods

After his dominant arrival on Raw last week, Rusev went one on one with Xavier Woods who he knew well from his time at NXT.

Rusev began the match up delivering the knees to Woods mid-section, before a thunderous kick to the face, this was followed by a spinning slam and The Accolade which Woods finally tapped to.

Rusev failed to break the hold after the bell so R-Truth tried to save his friend but was pushed away and Lana forced Rusev to stand down, before telling him to crush him.

Ultimate Warriors match at Summerslam 1990 was then shown as he won the World Championship.

Jack Swagger v Sheamus (First round match in the Intercontinental Championship number one contenders’ tournament)

The match up started with Swagger delivering the knees to the stomach of Sheamus but the Irishman fought back with punches and a hard clothesline.

Swagger was then clotheslined out of the ring before Sheamus went for his ten beats on Swaggers chest but Zeb Colter provided the distraction for Swagger to hit the slam outside the ring.

Swagger then hit the belly to belly suplex for a near fall and followed it up with another clothesline and a two count.

Sheamus fought back with his own clotheslines and a high running knee before a snapmare take down and a knee to the spine.

Sheamus finally hit ten beats of the Bourie for a two count, Swagger locked in the Patriot lock and Sheamus fought out and was knocked out of the ring. Sheamus was then knocked into the barricade and steel steps outside the ring but crawled back in and delivered the Brogue Kick from out of nowhere for the win.

Damien Sandow was in the ring when Raw returned and was talking about how he was the most deserving person in the WWE. The Big Show then interrupted and Damien told him he wasn’t finished before asking why the crowd were booing him and cheering Big Show.

He said he deserves them to cheer him because he’s earned it. He then turned to The Big Show and asked if he had anything to say, he didn’t reply and said that when Big Show looks at him he sees the future of the WWE and a future champion. Big Show then knock out punched Sandow and left.

The Wyatt family came out and Bray talked about how society has become vile and putrid. He said that you feel and see whatever they want you to feel and see. He said he had a thousand names and they may call him by whatever they see fit. He said he has never lied but John Cena has made a career out of lying.

He said he had Cena right where he wanted him, up against the ropes and on the edge where all he needs is that one little push. He said he did not wish to slay the monster, not yet. He just wanted to come out and play and asked John to come out.

Cena obliged and stayed at the top of the ramp, he told Bray he wanted to have some fun and that he was to serious. He told Rowan that he thought he had jokes and Harper could go streaking through the quad and Bray was secretly a ladies man.

He then said he had found Sister Abigail on Myspace and showed a picture of Bray dressed as a woman on the screen. He then showed a picture of Bray’s mum who looked exactly like Harper and a baby picture of Rowan.

Bray said he was hysterical and all he does is make jokes about everything. John then became serious and said that when he gets serious Bray gets beat. He said be careful what he wishes for because he might just get it.

He then told him that he would be fight him at Extreme Rules inside a steel cage, Bray said he liked that and told him he won’t be controlled in his own back yard.

Santino and Emma v Layla and Fandango

Fandango started the match up knocking Santino down, but he replied with an arm drag before he did his own sort of dance and the splits before landing a hip toss, he then took out the cobra but Fandango tagged Layla in.

Emma and Layla went at it with Emma locking in the dilemma, she then climbed up the turnbuckle but Santino distracted her and Layla knocked her off the ropes for the win.

BACKSTAGE: Stephanie was telling Kane that his personal issues with The Shield have gotten in the way, she said he was pathetic and was a shell of what he used to be. Kane then grabbed his mask and said he was going to eviscerate Daniel Bryan and send him to the depths of hell.

Ultimate Warrior’s final speech from last week’s Raw was then shown.

Dolph Ziggler v Bad News Barrett (First round match in the Intercontinental Championship number one contenders’ tournament)

Ziggler avoided a clothesline and slid out of the ring in the opening stages, before he climbed back in and Barrett hit the punches to his face and the snap suplex for a two count.
Dolph fought back with a drop kick knocking Barrett out of the ring. Ziggler was then sent head first off the ring post.

Raw returned with Barrett still on top but Ziggler sent him shoulder first into the steel post and hit the punches to the face and a neckbreaker for a near fall.

Ziggler went for the famouser but Barrett hit an overhead slam for another near fall. Barrett then went for another slam but Ziggler countered into the famouser but Barrett kicked out at two.

Ziggler then hit a face-plant from the top rope for another two count and Barrett hit winds of change for a near fall of his own.

Barrett then went for the BullHammer but Ziggler ducked and got the rollup near fall but Barett then hit the BullHammer for the win.

Barrett then told the audience that he was the next IC Champion.

Michael Cole then said that Daniel Bryan was on his honeymoon this week after marrying Brie Bella and showed a package of Kane saying that is what he has to look forward to.

The Shield headed to the ring not knowing who their opponents are, Del Rio then came out followed by Jack Swagger, Fandango, 3MB, Titus O’Neil, Rybaxel, Alexander Rusev and Wade Barrett and they all were facing the Shield.

The Shield v the WWE locker room

Heath Slater started this 11 on 3 handicap match against Seth Rollins, but he made the quick tag to Roman and he dominated one of 3MB before tagging out to Seth.

Rollins ended up in the wrong corner and the beat down on Seth began as Titus tagged in and taunted Roman before he tagged out to Rusev who completely dominated Rollins, with the head butts.

Ryback hit a unique slam to Rollins before he threw him to the outside and followed him out but Roman speared him on the outside and all hell broke loose, the bell rang but the Locker room continued to beat down The Shield.

Rollins flipped out of the ring and took everyone out and The Shield stood tall in the ring before the superstars one by one slid in and were taken out. But the numbers game finally played out and The Shield were beaten down until Evolution’s music played and out they came.

Triple H called everyone off and the three of them continued the beat down, first on Seth, Reigns made the save but received an RKO followed by a Batista Bomb and the attack on Seth continued and Randy hit the RKO and Batista went for the Batista Bomb but Dean tried to help Seth only to be taken out by Randy and Batista hit the Bomb on Seth.

Dean then received the final Batista Bomb into an RKO as Evolution stood tall and Triple H mocked Roman Reigns and told him to believe in Evolution before delivering a Pedigree and raising his hands with Batista and Orton.

So, Evolution have reformed and they have decimated The Shield in a way never seen before, which can only lead to a six man tag match at The Royal Rumble! Daniel Bryan will have to face the beast that is Kane when he returns to Raw! How long will AJ wait before she challenges Paige for her title back? And John Cena v Bray Wyatt in a steel cage??The road to Extreme Rules is heating up!
