Best surprise: Aaron Ramsey
Aaron Ramsey may have spent the majority of the second half of the season on the sidelines, but many now view the Welsh international as a key member of arsene Wenger's side.
In fact, his performances were so good at the start of this season, that many had tipped him to become the PFA Player of the Year before the start of 2014.
Now back from injury, Ramsey will be hoping to end the season on a high and help the Gunners end their trophy drought.
Worst surprise: Jack Wilshere
Jack Wilshere has had a fairly average season in all honesty. This was the season that many had expected the England international to really kick on and become a key player for both club and country.
However, the midfielder hasn't really lived up to expectation and has struggled with consistency. Gunners fans would have been hoping to see a lot more from Wilshere this season.
