It was a foregone conclusion that WWE were not going to be able to top last week's explosive episode, but this weeks felt like it was missing a lot of excitement.
Their was an emotional tribute to the Ultimate Warrior to start the show as well as the bell toll that was so reminiscent of the Eddie Guerrero tribute show almost a decade ago. WWE gave the legend a brilliant send off with many superstars visibly emotional themselves.
Daniel Bryan was absent, after his marriage to Brie Bella on Friday meant that he was off on his honeymoon, and this could have been part of the problem. The newly crowned face of the company is missing just a week after winning the biggest title in the business.
Not only this, but a lot of the focus was put on Evolution reforming with backstage and in-ring segments, John Cena didn't even get to wrestle, he just stood on the ramp and ran his mouth, something we have become accustom to. But he challenged Bray to a steel cage match at Extreme Rules and the peculiar Wyatt accepted.
Paige began her career as Divas Champion in style after a submission win over Alicia Fox, AJ was nowhere to be seen and wasn't even there for Warrior's tribute at the beginning, meaning she probably wasn't at Raw last night.
The Intercontinental Title match for Extreme Rules heated up as a tournament took place last night on Raw, and saw Cesaro, Rob Van Dam, Sheamus and Bad News Barrett all make it to the semi-finals, where they will fight it out for the right to face Big E at the most extreme night of the year.
The Shield had perhaps the worst night putting up a good fight in their 11-3 handicap match, but they were never coming out on top, in order for Evolution to be built up as much as possible they had to decimate The Shield the way that they did.
The Hounds of Justice will now be out for retribution and will want a match at Extreme Rules that they will probably win. I can't see this revival lasting long, Batista and Orton want the World Title, they have no plans to be part of a stable again, except to dispose of The Shield.
We also found out who will challenge Daniel Bryan for the title at Extreme Rules when Kane donned the mask of the devil once again and vowed to send Bryan to the "fiery depths of Hell".
There are just two more episodes of Raw before Extreme Rules on Sunday May 4th and it seems a lot of the card has already been announced, with AJ v Paige is set to be announced next week, as is Evolution v The Shield and Kane v Daniel Bryan. It seems all is becoming clear for the most extreme night of the year to be just that.
