Chelsea closing in on £50m Costa deal

Published 1 Comments

Chelsea are closing in on the signing of Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, according to The Mirror.

The Blues have been linked with the Brazilian born Spanish international for some time now, and it appears that the club are confident of signing the forward for as much as £50 million this summer.

And, if reports are to be believed, the Blues will offer Costa wages worth up to £185,000-a-week.

Costa has been in sensational form for Atletico this season, having scored 27 league goals - just one less than Player of the Year, Cristiano Ronaldo.

The striker is expected to come up against Chelsea next week in the Champions League semi-final, but now looks set to join Mourinho's side in the up coming market.

This will come as great news for the Chelsea boss, as he's been on the lookout for a world class striker for some time.

The likes of Fernando Torres, Demba Ba and Samuel Eto'o have all struggled with consistency throughout this campaign and Chelsea fans will be hoping the deal to bring Costa to the Bridge is completed quickly.
