Italian giants Roma have rivalled Arsenal in their pursuit of Porto striker Jackson Martinez, reports ABola.
However, that figure appears to be €12m short of the asking price, with Porto having valued the striker at €40m.
Martinez has attracted interest from some of Europe's major clubs in recent time, with the likes of Juventus, Napoli and Borussia Dortmund having also joined Arsenal in the race for his signature.
The Colombian hit man, who is 27-years-old, has had a fine season at the Portuguese outfit, having struck 17 league goals in this campaign.
And Arsenal fans will be hoping the club secure a move for a striker in the near future, with Yaya Sanogo and Nicklas Bendtner the only real back ups for French ace Olivier Giroud.
It remains to be seen as to whether Arsenal step up their interest in Martinez in the near future, but transfer activity is expected at the Emirates this summer.
