Ronda Rousey would beat Floyd Mayweather - UFC commentator

Published 3 Comments

UFC commentator Joe Rogan has controversially suggested that boxing’s pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather would lose to UFC’s female bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey in a hypothetical fight.

Rogan argued, on Sports Nation ESPN, that Rousey would be too experienced in her discipline to lose to Mayweather, who has never trained in MMA before.

“He would have to go with the very best trainers in the world and spend a good six months to a year on nothing but grappling,” Rogan said. “There’s going to be a lot of things she’s doing that he doesn’t understand.”

Rogan, however, admitted that Rousey would lose if she went toe-to-toe with Mayweather in the boxing ring.

This is not the first time that the idea of a Rousey v Mayweather bout has been talked about. Earlier this year, Rousey jokingly suggested that she would have the upper hand if they battled it out at MMA

The 27-year-old, who is widely regarded as the No. 1 pound-for-pound female MMA fighter in the world today, said her tactic would be to take Mayweather down to the ground, adding: "I spend a lot of time there and I doubt that he does.”

So, who would win in a fight between Mayweather and Rousey? Tell us in the comments section below!
