Two NFL cheerleading squads have helped footwear business Poppy Barley by improving the exposure of the products the Edmonton-based company sell.
Most NFL cheerleader stories are about photoshoots or crazy pr stories such as this one last week, but this time we have a cheerleaders done good heartwarming story.
Although the company had managed to tap into a consumer trend to get a foothold, it seems that they only took themselves to the next level when some American football cheerleaders generously offered their help.
Two NFL teams emailed the company with the need of custom boots for their cheerleading squads, and everything snowballed from there.
"When they emailed us at first we were like, 'Is it football season? Who are the Rams? Who are the Raiders?' We weren't really up to speed on the NFL situation," Kendall Barber told CBC.
"We never envisioned Poppy Barley would be making boots for cheerleaders," Justine Barber said.
The company has now entered the big leagues of the footwear business because of this move, showing that cheerleaders are more than just a pretty face.
But if that's not what you came here for, here's a link to a cheerleader lip sync mash-up.
