CM Punk last appeared in the WWE back in January 2014, leaving the organization for an extended break that to date shows no sign of ending.

In the subsequent four months wrestling fans have been treated to little more than radio silence from the wrestler and the WWE hierarchy with neither side choosing to comment on the continuing situation.

But, thanks to a leaked Raw script taken from Monday's show, we can learn exactly how the WWE is choosing to treat the delicate situation...

Apparently CM Punk is simply "injured", with his return date "to be determined".

Punk is included in a list of 'miscellaneous' stars contracted to the WWE organization alongside Triple H and the Undertaker.

Some will inevitably look to suggest that this finding shows that the whole CM Punk absence has been little more than a 'work' plotted by the star and Vince McMahon.

But, in reality, all this proves is that CM Punk is still contracted to the organization despite his prolonged absence.

It is interesting to see however that the WWE are refusing to acknowledge anything untoward with the popular star - even on their official documents.

Punk's current contract with the WWE is scheduled to run unitl July 2014 so it remains to be seen whether he recovers from the mystery injury in time to appear in the ring before then.
