Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has seemingly offered his blessing to a summer move for Diego Costa to Chelsea.
With reports in Spain claiming an agreement has already been reached between Costa and Chelsea, Simeone has moved to say that he will not stop his star striker joining the 2012 Champions League winners.
“It depends on him and what he believes is best for his future. I will support any decision,” the manager admitted in an interview with AS.
“It is normal that Chelsea are interested in him. He is good economic potential. Eto’o gets older and (they want) Diego Costa to do their work, but now he’s ours.”
This latest admission by Simeone adds fuel to the rumour that Costa will soon sign for the Blues, and this may actually pave the way for a summer transfer.
The Brazilian born Spanish international who was recently capped for Spain injured himself in last weekend's 2-0 win over Getafe, but Simeone insists that he has no concerns over his talisman’s fitness.
Costa could also be a future Balon d’Or contender with his impressive goal tally for the season.
