Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes playmaker Mesut Ozil can win the Player of the Year award next season.

As reported by The Daily Mail, the Gunners boss has insisted that Ozil will find his best form for the club in the 2014/15 campaign.

The German ace has struggled for consistency in his debut season in the Premier League, but Wenger believes it's because he's not used to playing a full campaign.

Speaking to reporters, the Arsenal chief said:  "He had a period where he was tired because he was not used to playing a full season.

"He's a fantastic football players and I would put him on the list to be player of the season next season."

Ozil has been on the sidelines with an injury in recent weeks, but is expected to return to the Arsenal set up this weekend.

The north London outfit travel to the KC stadium on Sunday to take on the side they will be playing in the FA Cup final, Hull City, and the Gunners will be desperate to secure all three points.

Ozil will be hoping to end the season on a high and help confirm Arsenal's place in the Champions League next season and the playmaker will also be desperate to be involved in the FA Cup final next month, as the Gunners look to end their nine year wait for a trophy.
