Speculation linking Santiago Arias with a move to Manchester United could be set to rapidly intensify, with the defender's agent having admitted that there is English transfer interest in his client.
The Red Devils were linked with a swoop for the £8 million-rated PSV Eindhoven right-back only last month and Javier Piquer has made no secret of interest from both Spain and England in the player.
"I confirm the interest of Valencia, which is already in the public domain, as well as other teams, including some from Spain and England," Arias' Spanish representative told Superdeporte in an interview that was cited by talkSPORT.
While he obviously did not confirm that it was indeed Manchester United that were one of the English teams casting admiring glances at his client, Piquer's comments are sure to do nothing to calm the speculation surrounding a possible switch to Old Trafford.
A Colombia international with three senior caps to his name, Arias - who joined PSV from Sporting Lisbon last summer - has made 24 appearances in the Eredivisie this season, notching one goal in that time.
Whether or not Manchester United - who are expected to spend significantly this summer to ensure they are able to avoid a repeat of what has been a dismal first season under the management of David Moyes - require a new right-back is a matter for debate.
Although Brazilian Rafael has shown glimpses of quality, questions appear to remain among certain supporters at just whether he is good enough to hold down a starting role on a consistent basis.
The likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are also able to deputise at right-back, but have shown far greater potential when deployed in the centre of defence.
