Barcelona: 5 stars they could've signed instead of Neymar (1)

After receiving a two-window transfer ban for allegedly breaching transfer rules and regulations, rumour has it that this was down to the signing of their Brazilian wide-man Neymar.

Although Barcelona have denied this has anything to do with their youngster, it does not stop people talking.

Despite all of this, Neymar has managed to perform reasonably well so-far for the Catalan giants, but maybe not as well as we thought he would.

The move was hugely anticipated world-wide and with last night's Copa Del Rey final being another El Clasico, the stage was set for the likes of Neymar and Messi to show the world what they've got - in the absence of Ballon D'or winner - Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, Neymar's performance was, well to be honest, rather poor.

Hitting the post in the dying embers of the final to equalise for his side pretty much summed up his night.

And whilst talk of this transfer saga still circulates, some may pose the question - was it really worth it?

So - here is a list of the players who Barcelona could've or, should've signed, and in the process, perhaps saving themselves money and more important - two transfer windows.
