Sometimes it just becomes too much. You are watching a Premier League game and one of your favourite players picks up the ball in a good position, takes a touch, looks up and pulls off something horrendous.

Equally so with defenders you admire so much when they hang on to the ball too long and make mistakes when put under pressure - needless erring is frustrating, but doing so when you so often show flashes of brilliance is just plain annoying.

This top ten is about those players; they can one week make quite remarkable contributions to a game, looking as though they are world beaters, yet the next week look as though they've forgotten what their feet do. Mistakes are one thing, everyone makes them at some point, but hapless blundering is another level, especially when said player has enough experience and talent they should be a world beater.

So we at GMS have picked out the ten players we watch each week in the Premier League and so often think 'why?' when we see them go missing, make awful decisions and do something incredible in the same match. As is tradition around here, we have put together a lovely slideshow for you to share the targets of our frustration, in no specific order.

So, click the slideshow to see the Ten Most Annoying Premier League Stars...
