Our first stop is Spain, where Gareth Bale put himself in the Real Madrid history books with a superb solo effort which gifted his team the Copa del Rey.

The final against Barcelona was tied 1-1 last night until the former Tottenham star embarked on a trademark run down the left-wing, before burning Marc Bartra for pace and bagging the winner in the 84th minute.

Meanwhile British papers hit overdrive yesterday with speculation that Luke Shaw has dropped the biggest hint yet that he will be joining Manchester United this summer.

The sought-after starlet favourited a post on Twitter from a fan saying that they couldn’t wait for him to move to Old Trafford, before quickly back-tracking and un-favouriting it. It may have been a slip of the finger, but United fans will take it as a good sign.

It’s not all good news for David Moyes however, as this morning reports claim Arsenal are to offer Laurent Koscielny a new deal in order to ward off interest from rivals clubs.

United have been linked with the French centre-back ahead of the looming transfer window, but Arsene Wenger is keen to keep him at the Emirates.
