Rajon Rondo wore specially designed sneakers during last night Celtics game in a show of respect to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing one year on from the tragic event.

The guard is a firm favorite in the City and showed a touch of class by turning out in the unique game sneakers shown above in his team's final regular season game.

The tongue of the sneakers resembled a traditional marathon running number, with the digits '41513' symbolising the date in which the famous marathon was hit by tragedy when two bombs exploded near the finishing line, killing three people and injuring many more.

The rest of the shoe's were emblazoned with the initials of the victims in a fantastic show of support to the people of Boston and those directly affected.

As reported by Celtics sideline reporter, Abby Chin, the one-off sneakers will now be donated to the One Fund Foundation.

Rondo posted the original pictures to his official Instagram account yesterday.
