Arsenal's alleged interest in Sebastian Jung has been confirmed by the Eintracht Frankfurt defender's agent, who revealed that the north London club are 'strongly on the trail' of the Bundesliga star.
The London Metro reports how the 23-year-old has attracted admiring glances from a host of clubs, following a series of impressive performances at the Commerzbank-Arena this season.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger is believed to be a huge admirer of Jung, as he continues his search for a potential replacement for contract rebel Bacary Sagna at the Emirates Stadium.
Speculation in Germany suggests that Arsenal are closing in on a £7million move for the talented right-back, after Mino Grillo revealed the Premier League have moved ahead of the player's list of Serie 'A' suitors.
"In England we know Arsenal are very strongly on his trail for the summer," he said. "They have had scouts watching him in the Bundesliga.
"There was interest in the past from Inter, Roma and Milan, but no recent contact."
Fellow full-backs Lukasz Piszczek and Daryl Janmaat have also been mooted for potential transfers to north London, but judging by Grillo's latest comments Arsenal are stepping up their interest in Jung, to provide competition for Carl Jenkinson on the right side of defence in 2014/15.
