Manchester United manager David Moyes has made Benfica’s Enzo Perez his number one summer transfer target.
Reports in Portugal suggest the Benfica midfielder has moved to the top of the Scotsman’s summer wish-list after Manchester United’s hope of landing Toni Kroos and Ilkay Gundogan this summer were diminished earlier this week.
Moyes was spotted in Portugal on Wednesday to run the rule over a number of stars playing for Benfica and Porto.
It was originally thought the former Everton boss was casting his eye on long-term Manchester United targets Eliaquim Mangala, Ezequiel Garay and Nicolas Gaitan - however it is Perez who is thought to be interesting Moyes the most.
Perez has had an impressive campaign for Benfica this season - having formed a formidable partnership with Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic in the heart of midfield before the Serbian international decided to seal a return to Stamford Bridge.
It remains to be seen if Manchester United will be willing to meet the Argentine's €30million release clause as 28-year-old Perez will not have any real resale value.
