The Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) have today revealed the six nominees who will be battling it out to win the prestigious Player of the Year award.

Gareth Bale won both the Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards last season after a tremendous final season at Tottenham.

His amazing campaign in north London saw him voted by his fellow professionals as the best player in the Premier League - but who has taken over that mantle since his world record move to Real Madrid.

Liverpool have had an outstanding season under Brendan Rodgers so both awards are littered by players from Anfield - as you can expect.

Manchester City and Chelsea, who are vying with Liverpool for the Premier League title, are also represented in this year's award, while there is a surprise - but fully deserved - inclusion for a certain Southampton star.

Click through the following pages to see who has been nominated for the main award and comment in the box below with who you think should win the award.
