NHL star tweets gruesome picture of injury

Published Add your comment

There is little doubt that the Anaheim Ducks can be proud of their captain Ryan Getzlaf after he took a puck to the face during game one of their Stanley Cup play-off series with the Dallas Stars.

The game on Thursday night saw the Ducks take a 1-0 advantage heading to game two, but their captain took a bit more.

He blocked the puck from going towards goal..... with his face.

Thus resulting in a fairly gruesome injury to Getzlaf's facial area.

Now his brother Chris Getzlaf- a Wide Receiver with the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders has tweeted a picture of his face after the doctors have done their bit to help restore him to his natural beauty.

With the words "One of the toughest guys I know" under the picture, which can be found on Getzlaf's Twitter page here he reveals the extent of the damage.

Not one to be put off by some facial scarring however, Getzlaf is set to play for the Ducks in game two against the Stars on Saturday night.
