It's been a tough season for both fans and players at Manchester United, who have struggled to match their unprecedented success of the last two decades under Sir Alex Ferguson.

New manager David Moyes, the 'Chosen One', has endured a difficult start to life at Old Trafford, and has a vital few months ahead, a period he will look to rebuild a squad that has fallen well-short of not just the title, but Champions League qualification.

Community Shield success, followed by a 4-1 thrashing of Swansea on the opening day of the season, and it appeared United were once again ready to lay down a title challenge, and strong defence of their league trophy they won with such ease last season.

However a number of disappointing results, particularity at Old Trafford, means they now find themselves languishing in seventh place, and seemingly with nothing but pride left to play for.

But having said all this, it could have all been so different, if were not for some key moments in certain games this season, where late goals have really cost the Red Devils.

GMS takes a look at seven key moments that have defined Manchester United's season, where key points dropped and cup exists, have proved extremely costly to the success of one of the giants of the English game.
