2: Robin van Persie | Arsenal to Manchester United

Football News
24/7

OK, so Robin van Persie achieved his ultimate aim of winning the Premier League following his switch from Arsenal to Manchester United. However it's impossible to believe that he could have predicted what would have happened since.

Sir Alex Ferguson retired and ever since the Old Trafford ship has been sinking without a trace. Though he's never publicly admitted his unrest at United this season, it's been cited by a number of high-profile members of the footballing world, and rumours have been rife that he wants out.

Only a fool would suggest that the Dutchman regrets the transfer which effectively handed him the title, but there is the theory that Arsenal could have had a much strong charge for it this year, were Van Persie still on the books. Of course then he wouldn't have had the added uncertainty that life at United currently brings.

Is it a fair argument that the 31-year-old jumped ship a little earlier due to his ambitions?
