Arsenal will go to Hull City on Sunday afternoon for an FA Cup final dress rehearsal knowing that a win is vital if they are to finish fourth in the Premier League and once again qualify for the Champions League next season.
Steve Bruce's selection will look different from the side he sends out for the showpiece event at Wembley Stadium on May 17 as his first choice strike force of Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic will be cup-tired, so will likely start. It will be interesting to see what kind of team Arsene Wenger sends out as his side have had to deal with a midweek fixture just a couple of days after going all the way to penalties against Wigan Athletic in the semi-final that booked their place in the final.
Arsenal's manager will once again be able to call upon Mathieu Flamini after the defensive midfielder completed his two-game ban for picking up ten yellow cards throughout the season. Wenger has also confirmed that club record signing Mesut Ozil has been back in full training after a hamstring injury kept him out for six weeks, which should boost their creative options but may not be ready for more than the substitutes bench.
Olivier Giroud drew praise from his manager after scoring an exquisite goal in the 3-1 victory over West Ham United on Tuesday and should continue, though Lukas Podolski may not get a recall. The German international scored a brace in that win, but his poor tracking back could convince Wenger to go for a more hard-working option on the left.
Kieran Gibbs is confirmed as missing, while his usual understudy Nacho Monreal is set for a late fitness test.
So, with all that in mind, here is the GMS predicted Arsenal starting XI for their clash with Hull City on Sunday:
Szczesny; Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Vermaelen; Arteta, Flamini, Ramsey, Cazorla, Podolski; Giroud.
