3. Adam Lallana

Adam Lallana has proven that players who work their way through the lower leagues are just as good, if not better, than those who spend their early years at big clubs.

The player has played at Southampton for the entirety of his career, following them through administration and their relegation to league one.

As the club have climbed back up the leagues, Lallana has continued to raise his game, and has done so in his second season in the Premier League.

The winger has scored 9 goals this season and has also contributed an impressive six assists.
Mauricio Pochettino – Southampton’s manager – said after a victory over Newcastle in which Lallana had starred, "I am always telling him (Lallana) that he has the characteristics of a Spanish player and he has the skills of an Iniesta, Xavi or Cesc Fábregas.

“Adam is special. He is a very unique player."
