Chelsea striker set for summer exit as Costa moves closer

Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o is being linked with a move to Besiktas in the summer transfer window.

The Daily Mail reports that the Turkish giants have sent a delegation across to the capital, with discussions opened over a possible £6.5million-a-year deal for the Cameroonian forward.

Jose Mourinho brought the veteran to Stamford Bridge in the summer, and Eto'o has proved his worth with a number of big goals - including a hat-trick against Manchester United earlier in the Premier League season.

However, the anticipated arrival of Diego Costa before the start of next season could leave his place in the side even less secure, with 'the special one' expected to shuffle his options in attack.

Neither Eto'o, Fernando Torres or Demba Ba have been able to make the position their own this season in west London, and Costa appears to guarantee goals for the Blues after a stunning season for Atletico Madrid.

Despite the inconsistency up-front, Chelsea are still in the title race this season, currently second in the table and five points behind leaders Liverpool ahead of the trip to Anfield next week.

In his only season in the Premier League to-date, Eto'o would love to claim another domestic winners medal, but it may be his only chance if a move does take place this summer.
