Most of you will look at this article and burst out laughing, you'll be rolling around on the floor in tears. Though, before you exit the article straight away take a read and see why I've argued this statement.
Jason Puncheon is in the best form of his career, scoring and assisting and generally playing well in every game he plays. He has been a breathe of fresh air for Tony Pulis' side, who under Ian Holloway you would of bet your house on Palace getting relegated.
Jason can play on either wing, left or right. England at the moment, are short on left wingers and the ones they do have are not exactly the greatest. Lallana and Sterling are probably the best two we have, and one is 18 years old. That kind of says a lot. And people would argue, what about Ashley Young? Lets be realistic, you'd rather have Joe Hart on the left rather than him.
Puncheon would be a nice backup for the squad, with Lallana and Sterling first and second choice. When chasing a goal, or a penalty shootout Puncheon would be a good person to bring on, that is if he can continue his form at international level that he is producing at club level.
The simple fact of the matter is, Young does not deserve to go to the World Cup. Puncheon is having a great season, and deserves over him. I would bet my house that it will not happen, but it is a nice thought.
