Manchester United are reportedly willing to spend up to £200 million to rebuild their squad for next year.

Despite having riches of talent in the attacking positions with the likes of Mata, Januzaj and Rooney, they have also struggled to break teams down. Here, I will look at five players United should attempt to sign.

Name: Mehdi Benatia
Club: A.S Roma
Position: Centre Back
Age: 27

Mehdi Benatia has undoubtedly been one of the signings of the season in Serie A, helping Roma to achieve Champions league qualification for next season and challenge Juventus for the title.

Signed for €13.5 million from Udinese a year ago, the Morocco international has gone from strength to strength this season, and has been linked with a number of top European clubs over the past few weeks. At the age of 27 he's at the peak of his abilities and would no doubt add much needed quality and experience to the United defence.

Estimated Value: £20-25 Million

Name: Luke Shaw
Club: Southampton
Position: Left Back
Age: 18

With Patrice Evra out of contract at the end of the current season and supporters unconvinced by Alex Buttner, United will undoubtedly be tracking a new Left Back in the summer months. Luke Shaw has widely been tipped to be that player, whilst his stats aren't exactly great (1 assist and no goals), he is still only 18 years old and could easily improve at a club as big as Manchester United.

Estimated Value: £25-30 Million

Name: Javi Martinez
Club: Bayern Munich
Position: Defensive midfield/Centre Back
Age: 25

Javi Martinez was one of the key players in Bayern Munich's historic treble winning season last year, his strength and power was a key attribute to the Bayern side. Martinez has become a bit part player under Pep Guardiola at Bayern this season.

Featuring in only 11 of his clubs league games. Capable of playing in midfield and at centre half, Martinez is undoubtedly the quality midfielder United have been lacking. Much has been said about United's defensive incapabilities and he will certainly help to plug that gap. He wont come cheap though as Bayern Munich paid a hefty €40 Million to secure the player from Athletic Bilbao two years ago.

Estimated Value: £35-40 Million

Name: Marco Reus
Club: Borussia Dortmund
Position: Forward/Winger
Age: 24

Many Manchester United fans see Marco Reus as the player to replace Ryan Giggs. Capable of playing in any of the forward positions, Reus will certainly add pace, power and goals to the Manchester United attack. Contributing 15 goals and 11 assists already this season, including a double against Real Madrid. Marco Reus is fast becoming one of the worlds greatest, something that he could achieve at United. With a £30 Million buy out clause in his contract, this would be seen as a steal for a player of Reus' quality.

Estimated Value: £30 Million

Name: Cesc fabregas
Club: FC Barcelona
Position: Midfielder
Age: 26

According to the Metro, Manchester United are again tracking Cesc Fabregas. Not this again, right? But, this time it could actually happen. In a recent poll held by Marca, 50% of Barcelona fans want Fabregas to be sold. Harsh for a player that his contributed 8 goals and 12 assists for his side most of those coming from an unfamiliar position. If Manchester United came calling and met Barcelona's demands, Fabregas may just be tempted to jump ship.

Estimated Value: £25 Million
