Could AJ McCarron be the next Joe Flacco?

Baltimore Ravens head coach, John Harbaugh recently revealed that the team are looking at bringing in competition for backup quarterback and now Alabama QB, AJ McCarron is set to visit the team ahead of the NFL draft.

McCarron is not the first quarterback that the Ravens have expressed their interest in this offseason and it is becoming increasingly more likely that Baltimore will select a passer at some point during the draft process.

Despite being part of a very successful Alabama team whilst at college, McCarron is not expected to be a top draft selection and it is very possible that the Ravens would be able to make the pick in the second or third round.

The Ravens have also looked at Jimmy Garrapolo, a quarterback from Eastern Illinois who is expected to be available in the second round.

Of course the chances of whichever quarterback the Ravens select taking over from Flacco as the team's starter is very unlikely. The team have devoted their future to the Super Bowl winner but in such a quarterback-dominated league, it is always prudent to have a good backup option.
