Roman Reigns secured the biggest win of his singles career on Friday night as he pinned the former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton at WWE's final live show of their Saudi Arabia tour.
The "strong link" of The Shield defeated the youngest ever World Champion with his trademark Superman Punch followed by a spear to secure his first win over an A+ player since he was the only member of his stable to manage a win over CM Punk at January's Old School Raw.
This is a huge step toward Reigns' inevitable singles future but as for right now he and team mates Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose face their hardest test to date when they take on a reformed Evolution (minus Ric Flair) at next month's Extreme Rules.
The latest rumours coming out of WWE are that Evolution v The Shield was created as a way for Reigns to stand out and in order to set up the epic collision of Triple H v Roman Reigns that is set for either SummerSlam or Night of Champions later this year.
