Everton manager, Roberto Martinez, has hinted that he wants to keep on loan striker Lacina Traore for another season.
The 6ft 8in Ivory Coast striker is set to return to Monaco at the end of the current term, but could be persuaded to stay at Goodison Park. And Martinez is hoping to do just that. He said to the Daily Post: "Lacina is someone we really believe can bring something different to the team and he is someone we will try to see if we can get an opportunity to sit down and see what is the next chapter.
"If we are competing in Europe then we will need four strikers."
The tall forward has been hindered with injuries since arriving to Merseyside in January and has played just over an hour of football in an Everton shirt.
Martinez will also be looking to capture Romelu Lukaku who's loan spell comes to a close this summer as well but he is aware it will be difficult to persuade the Belgian to leave Chelsea permanently. It's likely that Lukaku could make his way into the Chelsea line up next season due to a lacklustre season from Mourinho's current crop of forwards.
Arouna Kone is set to stay on at the club but he too has been inhibited by injuries this season and looks like he will miss the World Cup with Ivory Coast.
Steven Naismith has been considered as the other forward who will take up a place in the four striking options wanted by Martinez. However, a top four finish and some extra money to blow could tempt the Spaniard to look elsewhere for an attacking threat.
