Tottenham: Hugo Lloris to Arsenal
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud landed his France teammate Hugo Lloris right in it earlier this year, when he claimed the Tottenham goalkeeper would be open to the idea of crossing the north London divide this summer.
Lloris played down the speculation, explaining that Giroud’s words had been twisted and describing the situation as “embarrassing”, but what if Arsenal did come calling at the end of the season?
Lloris knows that, although Arsenal haven’t won a trophy since 2005, his chances of winning silverware over the next few seasons would be much higher at the Emirates Stadium than White Hart Lane.
While Wojciech Szczesny is a decent enough ‘keeper, France captain Lloris is far superior, and Wenger might consider an audacious swoop over the forthcoming weeks.
