The happiness that one could witness on Peter Moores' face was worth talking about and of course, being the one of an immense size.
As if, he had been waiting for the ECB to call him up and give him the reins of English Cricket. Whereas England's new head coach was amused to the extent of the height of The Eiffel Tower, some of the fans and a few Cricket pundits weren't, at all, on the happier side terming the decision as more of a "shock".
No doubt, it was a shock with Ashley Giles being the favourite, but what didn't please the fans was the man himself to be honest, a few comparing him with David Moyes.
It is obvious that criticism would be received no matter how good or bad a decision you make. In this case though, the decision was "right". An English by birth, Moores was sacked about five years ago with KP leading the charge by being the reason of his sacking and thus Andy Flower came in to begin the most famous few years in the history of English Cricket.
But, the truth is that what the Lancashire coach did then is what the English team reaped results of for the years to come and it still will. Players like Prior, Cook, Anderson, Swann were all in that list of young players which were intelligently thought of, by Moores as "The ones to lead England" in the future.
What he thought was found out to be true with all of them being the greats of the modern era. Clearly, this serves as a proof as to how far can this man with a stupendous intellect see. This leads to the most obvious conclusion of the young players being sent out invitations to play for Cook's England by Billy (Moores' nickname).
Another factor that strikes your mind like the thunderstorm at The Gabba in one of Ashes series is that the former Worcestershire and Sussex Cricketer is "English" as I did mention earlier. What this brings to the pack is the as precious as a diamond factor of "Pride" in contributing for your country and the emotion or that feeling of nationalism.
There doesn't exist any doubt whatsoever that a coach that belongs to the same country as the one being coached by him will give more to the team than the overseas one. More hard work, determination, dedication and last but not the least, in the case of Moores, "a point to prove as well". When all of this comes into one man who has had enough of copping fires of opprobrium, he simply becomes an example of excellence personified.
The summer is just round the park and Moores is vying to win matches for the Brits as we are all set for hopefully, the most memorable era of English Cricket..... At least this is what I think.
