Manchester United sextet could now stay at Old Trafford

Several Manchester United stars believe they have been afforded the opportunity to stay at Old Trafford due to David Moyes' recent sacking, according to the Guardian.

Moyes was planning for a summer clear-out after a horrendous first season in charge of the Premier League champions.

However the Scotsman was not given the time to restructure Manchester United's squad as he was relieved of his duties on Tuesday morning.

Manchester United's decision to axe Moyes will have delighted several members of the Old Trafford dressing-room.

Shinji Kagawa, Javier Hernandez, Rio Ferdinand, Tom Cleverley, Darren Fletcher and Ashley Young were all linked with moves away from the club during Moyes' time at Old Trafford after falling out of favour during periods of the season.

However all six players may now be given a second chance to show their wealth at Manchester United following Moyes' exit from the club.

Moyes' replacement is likely to want to cast an eye over the aforementioned stars before deciding on their futures.

Ferdinand is out of contract at the end of the season so will be hoping to sit down with the new manager to discuss his future at the north-west outfit.
