Chelsea star Fernando Torres looks a certainty to join Inter Milan this year, and bookmakers Sky Bet have slashed his odds to 2/1 to secure a move to the San Siro.

Following a well-publicised career at Stamford Bridge wherein he has largely failed to make an impact in front of goal, the Spaniard is expected to be sold on this summer as Jose Mourinho looks to stamp his authority on the team. Certain reports have suggested that the 30-year-old could be primed for a return to Atletico Madrid, but Sky Bet still clearly believe that it’s Inter - who are beginning their own revamp under new owner Erik Thohir - who will win the day.

Placed at 2/1 the Italian giants are the betting favourites to land Torres before September 2 this year, though Atletico are priced at 4/1, which would infer that they’re not out of the race altogether.

Of course the situation may change if the Spain international becomes embroiled in the deal to take Diego Costa to Stamford Bridge, as many see him as the ideal makeweight in the move. Some rumours have claimed Torres would be allowed to leave on loan, though it now appears any departure from west London would be a permanent one.
