Long before David Moyes' was given his marching orders at Old Trafford it was widely believed that replacing Sir Alex Ferguson was a truly impossible job.

Though there was always going to be a horde of men waiting to try their hand at succeeding the legendary Scot his legacy is such that it will probably never be matched. And his isn't an isolated situation either. There's been a fair few other examples of so called 'impossible jobs' working their way onto the market in recent years, and a multitude which could be set to crop up in the near future.

Needless to say, Moyes being relieved of his duties at Manchester United got our brains ticking, and we thought it would be interesting to compile a countdown of eight of the most impossible jobs known to the footballing world.

Whether it's replacing an icon or simply taking up a position at a club which is more ruthless than Sir Alan Sugar, we've documented the eight jobs people really need to steer clear of.
