Previous World Cup best: Winners - 1958, 1962, 1970, 1994, 2002.

Manager - Luiz Felipe Scolari

Scolari is in his second spell in charge of the Brazilian national team having lifted the trophy in 2002. No stranger to international management, he also guided Portugal to the 2006 World Cup

Star Player - Neymar

The poster boy of the tournament, the pressure is on Neymar to guide his team to World Cup success. The Barcelona boy has the skill to win a game on his own and he'll need to be on form if the hosts are to take the crown.

One to Watch - Bernard

Despite a growing reputation as one of the best young players in the world, Bernard only has 10 caps to his name due to Brazil's copious amounts of attacking talent. However, if he's given the chance to show his ability, Bernard's creative talents will allow Neymar to focus on scoring goals.

Chances - Potential winners

The five-time champions last lifted the trophy in 2002 but home advantage could pull them through this time round. Anything less than World Cup glory will be seen as a disappointment to the home crowd.
