Brendan Rodgers is expected to look to Yevhen Konoplyanka this summer as he strengthens his squad for the next league campaign.
Liverpool were linked with the Ukrainian in January and came very close to signing him but no agreement could be made after three days of negotiations.
The player was keen to sign for the Premier League outfit but the plug was pulled on at the 11th hour by his club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. Now Rodgers has the money and the appeal to strengthen his bid to attract the 24-year-old to England.
According to the Daily Mirror, his agent has hinted that a move could be complete by the end of the season.
Konoplyanka has scored 43 goals for Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk and country, which included a long range effort against England in 2012.
He is highly regarded in his home country and has won the country's player of the year award in three of the last four years.
Last time around the club made an estimated bid of £12 million but it is unknown whether this time around Liverpool will come in with a higher price.
