Some may argue that David Moyes should have been given more time to build his squad at Manchester United - but he had enough time.
He had two transfer windows to build a team. In the first window he spend most of his time trying to sign Cesc Fabregas, a player who simply didn't want to leave to his club.
He then turned to Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines, two players from former club Everton.
After failing with a joint bid for the pair deemed as 'derisory' and 'insulting' by the Toffees, on deadline day he managed to secure the signature of Fellaini and this was the only signing the Scot was to make during that window.
Manchester United went through a difficult season under Moyes. In December they were in sixth position after playing 19 games with a record of ten wins, four draws and five defeats.
They were a long way off where they were expected and anticipated to be. Nevertheless "The Chosen One" didn't see fit to strengthen his squad during the January transfer window. He only signed out of favour Chelsea midfielder Juan Mata, a purchase seem by some as a panic buy.
This week, after United's loss to Moyes' former club Everton, he was sacked. Some felt it was unfair, saying that he was left with an aging squad.
While the squad may have been aging, the same "aging" squad won the league by eleven points the season before. Even if the squad was aging he could have brought in some younger players to fill the boots of the older players, but he didn't.
Moyes is the one to blame for United's poor season which resulted in his sacking. Moyes was never the man to manager Manchester United, he is but a mid-table team manager and his appointment was a grave mistake by Sir Alex Ferguson.
