The build-up to Extreme Rules continues and it takes place on May 4, 2014 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

A number of stories have been emerging from the WWE as expected with the first pay-per-view event after WrestleMania XXX edges closer. More matches are rumoured, The Undertaker's streak is still raising a lot of questions and the Commissioner of NXT; John Bradshaw Layfield has officially vacated one of the championships. Continue reading to find out who that could be.

This article may contain spoilers, if you wish to avoid them please turn away now.

The Undertaker's streak - The WWE already know that this was going to get a lot of backlash from the fans, ending The Undertaker's streak. Over the past few weeks there have been various reports suggesting different things, however the latest updates suggest that it wasn't The Deadman's decision to end his streak.

We don't know the truth or the ins and outs over what is happening, but the belief is that if The Undertaker didn't want the streak to end then it wouldn't have happened, he has enough respect and power backstage to do so and if he put up a fight then Vince would not have allowed it to end. But in the end, Vince did make the call to have Brock Lesnar win the match.

It wasn't always straightforward though, there are reports that the referee had no idea who was going to win and was told to pin in any situation other than when The Undertaker locked in The Hell's Gate. The feeling is that Vince changed his mind over the streak not ending, knowing of 'Taker's condition, it was 'now or never' as to it ending to Lesnar.

Paige stripped off NXT Women's Championship - The new Divas Champion Paige recently filmed a segment with JBL, the commissioner of NXT where he strips Paige off the NXT Women's Championship. The segment is likely to be slotted into tonight's NXT show and the angle involves JBL telling the 21-year-old Brit that she can't hold both championships at once.

The feeling right now is that another tournament will be held to see who the next champion will be, in June of 2013 Paige won the same tournament to become the very first NXT Women's Champion.

Latest Sting to WWE developments - This story has been dragging on for months and months, usually you would get bored of hearing it but when Sting is involved it is a different story. It hasn't yet been confirmed if Sting has actually signed his contract with the WWE. He has received it and all that needs to be done is signed and sent back to the company, it is considered a formality that he is signing with the company.

It is possible that he has already signed but not a lot of people within the company know, he has already appeared on the WWE Network during The Ultimate Warrior specials and the company should also be releasing a Sting DVD later on in the year.

WWE upset with Mick Foley - Mick Foley has been very vocal on his social media accounts ever since the Royal Rumble event where he criticised the booking of Daniel Bryan. He made his feelings very clear and as expected, the WWE weren't too pleased with how he went about making his feelings known.

They are now also upset due to a blog post where he has explained why he hasn't signed a new legends deal with the businessm this is because he wasn't pleased with the amount that was paid to him on the past two WWE video games, you can read his full post here.

New rumoured Extreme Rules matches - Bad News Barrett is rumoured to defeat Rob Van Dam next week in the finals of the Intercontinental Championship tournament, and will go on to compete against Big E for the championship at Extreme Rules. It is expected that Cesaro will cost Rob Van Dam the match and this will create a triple threat match between Cesaro, Rob Van Dam and Jack Swagger.

A WWE Tag Team Championship match is also expected to be added, The Usos could defend their titles against the team of Ryback and Curtis Axel.

Daniel Bryan update - Daniel Bryan was originally listed as questionable for Monday Night Raw next week, however it was announced on WWE Main Event that Daniel Bryan will be at the event. However he will not be at the non-televised live events, as always the company splits the house shows into two different groups. Daniel Bryan's group consists of Kane, Randy Orton and The SHIELD whereas the superstars that are with John Cena on his live ents are The Big Show, The Wyatt Family, Batista and Sheamus.

As you know, Daniel Bryan's father sadly passed away earlier this week which is why the WWE had Kane attack Bryan. Following the segment Bryan's bags were already packed and he flew home, unless arrangements such as the funeral change, Daniel Bryan is expected on Monday Night Raw after insisting.

War Games speculation continues - It was heavily speculated that Extreme Rules will be holding the War Games stipulation in the match between Evolution and The Shield, a stipulation made famous in WCW. However with The Wyatt Family and The Shield rivalry still expected to continue later on, it is expected that War Games will happen this year, but whether it involves The Wyatt Family or Evolution, that remains to be seen.

The WWE have already announced the locations for the upcoming pay-per-view events, and there is currently only one arena between now and SummerSlam which is deemed as large enough to fit the two-ring set-up which is what War Games needs. Battleground is the event, so let the speculation continue.

No heel turn for The Wyatt Family - Finally there were rumours coming out of the WWE that The Wyatt Family were going to turn face, however the plan right now is to keep Bray Wyatt a heel.

This also meant The Shield would be turning heel again, however the two are being kept as they are, the only time they will turn heel is when The Wyatt Family turn face and they meet each other inside the ring once again. This is expected to continue for a short while until Roman Reigns breaks away from The Shield and turns into a top single face superstar.
