We begin in the NBA where two of the favorites to reach the Finals, the Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs, were in playoff action last night.

The Heat won for the second game running against the Charlotte Bobcats, but the Spurs went down 113-92 against the Dallas Mavericks leaving their series tied at one game apiece.

Over in baseball, the New York Yankees had a bad night at Fenway Park Wednesday.

Their 5-1 loss to the Boston Red Sox was compounded by having starter Michael Pineda ejected in the second innings after being caught with pine tar on his neck.

Meanwhile in the NFL, the 2014 regular-season schedule was released yesterday.

Reigning champions the Seattle Seahawks will begin their title defense against the Green Bay Packers at CenturyLink Field on September 4th.

And finally, in the NHL, there were wins for the Dallas Stars, Colombus Blue Jackets and Chicago Blackhawks as the race for the Stanley Cup continues.
