Chelsea step up search for Ashley Cole replacement

Chelsea are reportedly interested in signing Sevilla left-back Alberto Moreno.

The Blues currently have Cesar Azpilicueta playing at left-back, while Ashley Cole looks set to leave at the end of his contract in June.

With Ryan Bertrand out on loan, and seemingly not good enough, Chelsea have been linked with a host of left-backs - including Southampton youngster Luke Shaw.

According to the Daily Express however Chelsea may also be interested in Moreno. According to the report, Chelsea look set to launch a bid for Moreno as they scour the transfer market for a successor for Cole who is a rumoured Liverpool target.

Moreno has been garnering interest in recent times and was said to be on Real Madrid's radar as well as being linked to Manchester United in January, although their interest amounted to nothing.

It remains to be seen whether Chelsea's interest will actually result in a bid or not.
