Manchester United and Arsenal have been offered renewed hope in their alleged pursuit of Matthias Ginter after the highly-rated Freiburg star denied claims he is about to sign for Borussia Dortmund.
TalkSPORT reports how the 20-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from the Mage Solar Stadion this summer, with suggestions that the defender will link up with Jurgen Klopp at the Westfalenstadion.
According to the Daily Express, the Bundesliga giants were closing in on an £8million deal for the centre-back, but Ginter has been quick to play down speculation of an imminent transfer.
"No, there is still nothing to report from my side," he told Sport1.de.
The news will come as a significant boost to Gunners boss Arsene Wenger, who is understood to be keen to bring the Germany international to the Emirates Stadium when the transfer window reopens.
Manchester United are also monitoring Ginter's development in Germany as they seek to strengthen their back line after Nemanja Vidic departs Old Trafford during the summer.
