A report in a Spanish newspaper suggests Barcelona could make a shock summer move for Thibaut Courtois.
Catalan newspaper, Sport has linked the Spanish giants with making a move for the young Belgian who is currently on loan at Atletico Madrid for the third successive season from Chelsea.
This would appear to be one of the most unlikely transfer rumours of the summer, especially if you consider Barcelona have apparently already sealed the signature of highly rated German goalkerrper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
Courtois is one of the hottest properties in European football, and at the age of 21 he is already considered to be one of the goalkeeper's around.
The former Genk stopper has publicly stated that he will only be going back to Chelsea next season if he is going to be guaranteed first-choice.
So if Barcelona have sealed a deal for Ter Stegen, it would make the possibility of Courtois signing seem even less unlikely.
Jose Mourinho is confident Courtois will return to Stamford Bridge this summer and sign a new contract with the Blues.
Courtois is expected to be Chelsea's number one for the start of next season, as Petr Cech is likely to still be recovering from the shoulder injury he sustained against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night.
The Belgian number one has been in impeccable form for Diego Simeone's side this term.
Atletico remain on course to win a La Liga and Champions League double, and Courtois has been one of the main reasons behind that success.
