Andres Iniesta has insisted that Lionel Messi must stay at the club this summer as the club won't find anyone else like him.

The midfielder told Spanish newspaper, El Mundo Deportivo: "He could not be better anywhere else other than here and Barca will not find another player like him."

The Argentinian striker has been at the Nou Camp for 10 years but the directors at the club are considering offers for the 26-year-old.

Clubs such as Bayern Munich, Paris Saint Germain and Manchester City have been linked with the forward as well as club in decline, Manchester United.

Since the club's transfer ban was lifted, Barcelona would be able to invest in a replacement and Iniesta believes this is important if the club wants to kick on.

"It is great news for the club to be able to continue to improve, independent of whether we win trophies or not. Barcelona always has to improve."

But as Iniesta said, it will very difficult for them to replace Messi, a striker still in his prime and with plenty of time left on his contract.

He has no real reason to leave the Spanish giants unless he wanted to work under his former coach, Pep Guardiola at the Allianz Arena.

His Bayern side won the league in record time whilst Messi's Barca side look on course to finish second having won no silverware this year.
