Manchester United - five players who could revive them (4)

Eliaquim Mangala

With Nemanja Vidic ltaly bound and Rio Ferdinand set to leave too, Manchester United need another commanding centre back to set the Red Devils' leaky defence straight.

Eliaquim Mangala, one of Europe's best centre backs, could become available this summer as Porto look to cash in on yet another star.

Mangala is big, strong and pacey - a dream combination for a defender at the top level. He has been a rock for his club for several years now and at 23 is still quite young, meaning United could build a future with Mangala featuring prominently.

A £25 million bid should be enough to tempt Porto into selling but United should aim to get the deal done quick, with both Manchester City and Chelsea waiting in the wings should the opportunity arise.
