Seattle Sounders FC boss Sigi Schmid believes that in Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins, his side possess the best attack in Major League Soccer.
Speaking after the Rave Green's 4-1 win over the Colorado Rapids, a game in which both forwards scored, Schmid described how the pair had been working on their partnership.
"It's really something that's borne out. When we train, we always try to put them on the same team together so they look for each other", revealed the German.
"We see that now in the games. The little 'tiki-taka' stuff that they combine with is pretty pleasurable on the eye."
After his brace on Saturday, Dempsey now has eight goals for the season, while strike partner Martins has three. The Nigerian is also top of the division in terms of assists.
When asked how his front two compare to the rest of the MLS, Schmid held nothing back in his praise of Seattle's star men.
"People are going to make a case for (Robbie) Keane and (Landon) Donovan, and when those two guys are together up front they're pretty good.
"But right now, Dempsey and Martins are as good as it gets in our league."
The Sounders' win at the weekend, combined with FC Dallas' defeat at DC United, saw them propelled to the league's top spot.
Elsewhere in the division, the Montreal Impact and the San Jose Earthquakes earned their first wins of the season, while the Portland Timbers remain anchored to the foot of the table.
